Some Thoughts This Morning:
Gun violence is never okay. I fear we are a nation that is moving in the direction where we value gun ownership and violence over lives. In the wake of another act of gun violence, this time directed at a former president who is also running for the office, our spirits must cry out again for our leaders to do something. Every human life is sacred. We must confront the devastating impact of gun violence and advocate for policies that promote change.
Judaism calls us to be ohev shalom, lovers of peace, and rodfei shalom, pursuers of peace. This means not only thoughts and prayers for peace but actively working towards it. Demand change and honor the sanctity of life.
May this moment transform into action, into tangible efforts for peace and safety for all.
