I am conversing with a blind friend on the question of whether a blind person might truly read Torah (not just have an aliyah with another person reading). I am a layperson and no scholar so have been searching online guidance. I’ve learned that memorizing the portion is frowned upon and a few other things but nothing encouraging. If you have pointers or suggestions of people I might reach out to that would be helpful.
